Hi Buddy! If I'm not mistaken, I believe Sir Jo Avila teaches basic photography with basic photoshop as well. :)
ro_deleon 09-20-2006, 03:09 PM is basic photoshop included in the photography classes that are being conducted around?

I got mine from PowerBooks YEARS ago. I suppose they still carry it.
jay jallorina 09-21-2006, 10:45 AM try looking for photoshop books that are geared towards photographers. CS2 reference titles are not quite as helpful kasi they just list what this menu/command/filter/etc is for and what it does...
what you need to know is how to do this and that effect to your photos using CS2. you need a book with a comprehensive listing of methods (not just commands) which you can incorporate into a general workflow that you will then use to post-process your digital captures.
look for:
the photoshop cs2 book for digital photographers (scott kelby)... excellent!!! dami din ideas about black and white conversion...
adobe photoshop cs2 studio techniques (ben wilmore)
another great book! nice chapter on the important curves command
photoshop restoration and retouching (katrin eismann)
if glamour/fashion is your thing, you should look for this. excellent chapter on glamour retouching...
then of course there are lots of specialized tutorials available online. if you really need a specific techniques, just ask the photoshop gurus here in the forum. im sure they will all be glad to chip in their methods...
cheers! :)
tracy_arciaga 09-21-2006, 02:03 PM thanks for the tutorial links jay :)
Buddy Arancon 09-21-2006, 02:54 PM tnx jay! appreciate all the inputs. :)

nap_alcedo 10-24-2006, 09:04 AM I want to share with you a Photoshop Tutorial Site which I stumbled upon last night. It is very easy to follow through. Heres the LINK (http://www.nobsphotosuccess.com/).
Here's my first not-so-serious attempt at Photoshop after that.

Gerardo Sabado 10-24-2006, 10:02 AM Great processing Nap. Your daughter?
Lino_Felarca 10-24-2006, 10:13 AM I am certain Basic Photoshop is part of one of Jo Avila's Basic Photography seminar modules. If I am not mistaken,I believe Jo also commented that he didn't like the book"...Classroom" as there are some instances there that mentions you have to read the Adobe Help Center of CS2 for further clarification.
nap_alcedo 10-24-2006, 01:44 PM Great processing Nap. Your daughter?
Yup. The only willing subject I have so far. How I wish I could shoot some of the babes that the other guys here use as models. :)
bunny_donato 10-24-2006, 02:39 PM thanks for the link doc.....nice pp on your daughters pic.....by the way your daughter really looks like you
