:) Trying to come up with a database of Lens Aliases...

For example:

AFS 28-70mm f/2.8 = The Beast
AF 85mm f/1.4 = The Bokeh King; The magic lens; The cream machine...
AFS 200mm VR f/2.0 = The Speed Demon
MF 45mm P = The Pancake Lens
AFS 18-200 VR = The Creeper
AFS 17-55 DX f/2.8 = The Smurf (unofficial) :D

 I'm running out People... Care to add...

Ewan ko TJ what got into me naming the 17-55 that. Maybe because it's a cuter brother of the 28-70... hahahah...:) But the name "The DX Beast" also sounds cool!

Hey this is cool! Somewhat gives me ideas as to what lenses to get in the future. But they're probably the expensive ones. The "Smurf" made me laugh a lot! Hahaha! :D Nice one Earl! :)

We often call wideangle lenses as storytelling lenses because of the wide perspective they capture, thus, I solemnly baptize my Nikon 12-24mm f/4 to be named as "The Storyteller". :)

Lord of the Bokeh? Bokeh god? :)

:D hehehehe... It doesn't deserve that much "Name-fame" Marton... Personally, I've shot the lens with a friend's 1DSMKII... The thing hunts in focus at low light... It's a very slow lens as opposed to it's quick aperture...

I will name my 17-55 f2.8 as the "Digital Beast" or "Blade 55"
My 80-200 f2.8 will be named "Blade 200"
Blade 60, Blade 24, etc, etc.

Now, they have a personalized name. Blade for sharpness as what Carlo more or less called them, and at the same time, as a tribute to my profession...

Correct me if I'm wrong here Carlo... :) From what I've heard it's the F-mount conversion which is expensive and not the lens itself...

actually they are a bit expensive bec the oudelfts rayxars are very very hard to come by. they used to be pretty common before but all the hippies hoarded em. the conversion is affordable but very time consuming and difficult. luckily i dint have to go through all that trouble coz a certain nature photograper in norway was gracious enough to part with it:)
