ahhh, just wondering when did canon release the first EOS camera?

I have two books here of the "CANON ASIA PACIFIC PHOTO CONTEST" dated 1991
and 1992. The EOS 1 was displayed at the back cover. It might be pretty cool to hold that EOS 1..............

and um uhh...... any info on the EOS system? coz im so ignorant of it. All I know about it is about the compatibility of the EF lenses. What are other advantages of EOS?
