After seeing the IR threads, I thought about getting a filter myself. So I called several shops and found out, that you can't buy IR filters. They said you have to get it in Camp Crame and with a permit. Is this true? Can anyone suggest an easier way to get these filters?

huh? thats the most absurd thing i ever heard they must have misunderstood what you wanted. ir filters are easily obtainable but most people do not stock it here becasue they are expensive item to stock. you can easily Pm a member here dindin lagdameo and she can qucikly source one out for you.

btw i think what what they thought you wanted are Infared night goggles now those you need a permit:)

That's what I thought at first. IR goggles or night vision need permits. When I told them it's for a DSLR used for fun or artistic purposes and all that. They said yes, you need a permit. You can even try calling Mayer yourself and they'll tell you the same thing.

Anyway, thanks Carlo, i'll try to check Dindin. :)
