Hello to everyone.

I am new here and first want to say hello. I have looked over some of the images posted and man there is some GREAT talent here (from traditional to hip). I am glad to be a new member!

My question is about lights here in the PI. I just looked at the Orion Edge Pro Boom at Avenue Photo. I talked with Wilson who seemed not only knowledgeable but really nice. I was impressed with the lighting system.

But before buying I am hoping to hear some feedback from you guys about them and/or your thoughts on other light systems available here in the Philippines.

I did look into White Lightning/Alien Bees but shipping costs are high and then faced with import duty fees seems to make them out of the question.

When in the states I was using Dyna-lytes, with Chimera Light Boxes.

As to what I will be using lights for...people, food, still life, etc. The tentative plan is 3 1000WS strobes, soft boxes, grids, etc.

Also are there any strobes here that have a ring flash? Looking around in Quiapo I did not come across one although Wilson seemed to suggest there might be one later in the year from Omni.

Any thoughts you have will be greatly appreciated,

Skip Nall

P.S. Man I wish I was young and hip again looking at some of the VERY cool imagery here!!!

Hi Skip,

You may want to wait for the next issue to come out. We did a review of the lights there and compared it with other brands. :D
