hahaha. that is one super-duper tele lens! and it's shaped differently on the outside.

The 1200 5.6L at about 36 lbs now seems to be a light walk-around lens compared to that...:)

Woah. You might have to contract some steel fabrication company to make a tripod for that. Or use a crane. :D

Looks like a space ship! I'm imagining for the price it will go for, it should come with its own support / transport system.

I wouldn't use that on a tripod without wheels and an engine. But I think it'll be best to mount it on the turret of an M1 Abrams tank. :)

I read on chris week's blog that Zeiss made only 1 of these babies and some rich dude in an oil producing country has it mounted on his MB SUV for shooting falcons.

Questions?
What photobackpack will you use for that?
What's the filter size? How do you rotate a polarizer infront of it?
What's the slowest shutter speed you can use to avoid camera shake?
Can you use a teleconverter with it?

mmm.. if I remember my photography 101 right... that would be 1/1700 >> round it to 1/2000, for hand-held shots :D

A Hummer H2 will do. :)
What's the filter size? How do you rotate a polarizer infront of it?
At that focal length, I don't think you'll need a polarizer.
What's the slowest shutter speed you can use to avoid camera shake?
At 256kgs. camera shake would be the least of your problems.
Can you use a teleconverter with it?
I believe you could. The teleconverter is mounted between the lens and the body anyway.
