View Full Version : The Mighty Tablet
willy_palacios 05-19-2006, 04:35 PM since im just beggining to use PS, again, i plan to get a cheap Tablet & Pen, would anyone know how does this perform? thanks
the one from Genius w/ wireless mouse?
http://www.geniusnet.com.tw/product/product-1.asp?pdtno=483
BTW what specs to look for when buying one? maybe i would consider Wacom latter, years from now :D
amiel lapuebla 05-19-2006, 09:57 PM that's pretty ok, but i suggest that you stick with wacom. i got one at home which is a 5yr old model 6x8 for around 5k, and i never had a problem with it. what's your budget anyway?
nino_carandang 05-19-2006, 10:32 PM DO NOT GET THAT. i used to have that. buy a wacom graphire... around 3k at least. I still use a Graphire 2... around 2001 pa with me. Never failed me. Although I'm itching to get a Cintiq, if the office allows it. lol

:)
We recently had a demo on the Cintiq done by their distributor ATI, it was the 15'' (?)screen tablet and if I am not mistaken it is on Sale... something like from a price of P55k it's now down to P24K. According to the ATI rep, the newer 21" models are arriving next month, June and so they are disposing their few remaining old model Cintiqs.
I'm itching on getting a Graphire4, 4x5 or perhaps the Intuos ... which one kaya?
:)
Pilar Tuason 05-20-2006, 10:00 AM Dont bother getting something cheap. You will end up pissed off and you will throw it out the window and will end up buying the expensive one. so save your money and get the best you can afford:-)

hands down, intuos!
willy_palacios 05-20-2006, 10:39 AM okidoki, thanks for the input guys. i thought they would just be the same as a genious mouse & a logitech mouse, i guess it's different when it comes to pads eh.
hmmm Graphire or Intous :Scared:
Kieron Tan 06-29-2006, 10:11 PM Maybe you need intuos3 9x12
willy_palacios 06-30-2006, 03:28 AM & why the intuos3 9x12 & not the others if I may ask :Scared:
Maybe you need intuos3 9x12
raffy_yllana 06-30-2006, 10:16 AM I have a graphire 4. If used mainly for PS, ok na. But if you plan to do digital painting with Corel Painter and other digital art softwares, go for the Intuos 3.
& why the intuos3 9x12 & not the others if I may ask :Scared:
Kieron Tan 06-30-2006, 10:35 AM Hindi ko na kasi ginagamit kaya benta ko na intuos3 ko. useless na nasa box lang
raffy_yllana 06-30-2006, 10:55 AM OT: kieron - pwede ba gamitin tablet & pen sa video editing?
Hindi ko na kasi ginagamit kaya benta ko na intuos3 ko. useless na nasa box lang
Kieron Tan 06-30-2006, 10:42 PM haven't tried using it. hehe pwede siguro.
ANGELO SANTOS 07-01-2006, 06:15 PM OT: kieron - pwede ba gamitin tablet & pen sa video editing?
'ey, raffy, YES, you can use the tablet & pen in video editing, in fact, you can use it in all applications. it works just like any standard mouse for that matter. it's just that you're gonna be having a hard time using it in an app that doesn't really fit in with it. hmm, what would that be... :)
Stanley_Diongco 07-21-2006, 01:17 PM I'd say stick with what you have and with what you're comfortable with. tablets are not necessities. (tama ba spelling?)
regie_de_rueda 07-21-2006, 01:42 PM Tablet and pen helps a lot if your wrist, due to prolong photo editing starts hurting like crazy.(Carpal tunnel syndrome). Editing with a pen, feels so much more comfortable. I got a wacom graphire3 and it has helped me a lot on my video and still editing. Though it's dimension is 4x5, I'm succesfully using it with my DELL 2005FPW from edge to edge and top to bottom.
I highly recommend to get the one which fits your budget.
Keep on shooting!
willy_palacios 07-21-2006, 02:03 PM has anyone tried the XP-pen? some say it better than wacom in the same category

They are actually necessary if one is into image editing.
Stanley_Diongco 07-24-2006, 07:06 PM They are actually necessary if one is into image editing.
i tend to disagree. i personally don't use a tablet, and yet i retouch at the pixel level. i dnb every pixel of my image. yes it's a lot more tiring, but i stick with what i have, and i am comfortable with it.
John Edward Taca 07-25-2006, 12:54 AM saw some at "octagon" a big computer store at filinvest mall in alabang
they carry wacom, aesod (i think) and manhattan.
nino_carandang 07-25-2006, 06:31 PM dont "F...." around with other brands. just get a wacom. at least a graphire. once you're hooked, no turning back to using the mouse again.
paul chiongson 07-25-2006, 07:07 PM I use a Wacom Intuos3 9x12 with grip pen and airbrush, still have to fully utilize the use of the airbrush. But the tablet as been a blessing when using Photoshop.

JonDexterTan 10-26-2006, 04:00 PM it is easier man! just need a bigger desk! :)
randytamayo 10-26-2006, 09:38 PM I use my Intuos3 all the time (it has now replaced my mouse) - even on non-PS work, like say word processors :P
JPSarmenta 10-26-2006, 09:50 PM i still use my mouse for ordinary navigation in my mac. i love the wireless mighty mouse too much! but for photoshop my tablet is a much to ease the burden of all the selection i'm doing lately.
Tok Paler 10-27-2006, 01:30 AM I got the Graphire4.. like a duck to water! =D i don't use my mouse anymore =b even when i'm playing dynomite or heavy weapon =)

:D hehehehehehe Stan! Bro., my sentiments exactly! :)
"I still prefer double clicking mouses!" :D waahihihihihihihi LOL.
mitzpicardal 10-27-2006, 12:42 PM I use the wacom tablet with my left hand and the mouse on my right hand. I wish a i have a third and a fourth hand for the keyboard :)
enjoy_gaw 12-28-2006, 11:08 AM How do you use your tablet? in mouse or pen mode?
I'm still trying to get used to using one, any disadvantages using it in mouse mode?
Randall Cipriano 12-28-2006, 02:13 PM Well, I do have the Favo (Graphire 4 pen+mouse combo) so I use the pen for graphics software and the mouse for the rest. :)
Sometimes I just use the pen for other tasks as well like surfing and just use the built-in scroll wheel and forward/back buttons on the tablet.
enjoy_gaw 12-29-2006, 04:45 AM pen mode - actually refers to the entire area on the tablet corresponding to a specific point on the monitor. touch the upper right corner of the tablet and the pointer appears on the exact upper right corner of the monitor.
The mouse mode - well you use the pen like a mouse, where it slides in short distances. Not sure how else to explain it.
Heard that the pen mode is more natural but using the two screen (even on a single screen) setup i find it awkward and i go back to mouse mode.
Is it worth the trouble to learn to use it in pen mode?
@ randall
I agree, the scrolling required on surfing is much easily done with a scroll mouse.
The trackpad is causing my right hand to cramp
wish they come up with a scrolling pen.
Randall Cipriano 12-29-2006, 08:52 PM A weird thing happened earlier today. I found that using the pen outside Photoshop, it used mouse mode and then used pen mode when I switched back to Photoshop.
Now I can't replicate it anymore. Everytime I use the pen, it's always in pen mode. Weird. :/
rudytolentino 01-01-2007, 07:20 AM i got a hand-me down intous tablet from my son. it's the cheapest and smallest model.
mouse vs pen tablet for photoshop use?
pen tablet hands down.
Jo Avila 01-01-2007, 08:01 PM I always use the pen mode even using using a two monitor set up. The pen mode makes it easier for me to create masks and selections in PS.
BTW, I recently retired my trusty Graphire2 (4x5). It's been with me for a very long time. I accidentally broke its pen. That would be the third pen that I have broken for this particular unit. I was debating whether I should just put in an order for a new pen.
But I decided to just get myself a new Graphire4 (4x5).
The Graphire2 is now destined to be put on display at my studio along with my other toys and memorabilia :D
Tok Paler 01-01-2007, 10:51 PM hmmm.. i see that breaking the pen is non totally uncommon (i feel better now =b) hehehehe! =D
anyway, just wanted to throw you guys some question: with regards to tablets, is bigger better? or is the 4x5 generally the best size to work with?
Randall Cipriano 01-01-2007, 11:16 PM When I was borrowing my friend's 4x5 before, I got used to the area pretty quickly. Now that I'm using a 6x8 it's actually quite challenging. Yes, it's easier with small detail work but I find myself getting tired and sometimes frustrated at the long distances I have to reach. :/
I think 4x5 is just right. Sometimes I just set the tablet area to a smaller size to mimic 4x5 when I really don't need the detail.
Jo Avila 01-02-2007, 12:33 AM Based on my personal experience, it depends on where I am working and what I have to do :D
I like my 4x5 Wacom because of its small size. Its portable and fits easily in my laptop bag. I usually use this size if I have to quickly edit photos on location. I've even used it to make quick sketches using Corel Painter IX.5 while waiting for the model to get through hair and make up.
I have separate 6x8 units at my studio and my house. I have the luxury of desktop space at both venues.
I am comfortable working with both sizes - although I would like to try working with the larger sized Wacom Tablets. But, I've been drooling for a Cintiq ever since I got to try one out. It simply makes a tablet look primitive :D LOL!
But the 4x5 size will suffice for most of my needs. The only thing I had to train myself to do was to keep my hand firmly planted on the tablet surface. I once took a summer course on basic drawing back in 1989. Our lecturer told us to keep our hands off the paper surface in order not to smudge our sketches. The opposite works for me best when using a tablet. I like keeping my hand on the tablet surface to establish a sort of anchor point. It makes it easier for me to determine accurately where to move the pen on the tablet surface while using pen mode.
LeoCastillo 03-19-2007, 12:31 AM Hi gang! Just joining in to this thread.
Based on real world conditions, is the Intuos really so much better than the Graphire?
Only because I've been happy with the Graphire I tested before and I've never actually tested an Intuos.
Nino and Jo, based on this thread I noticed you use the Graphire yourself. Have you ever tested with an Intuos? Are you really missing anything major?
Would like to hear from everyone who has an opinion on this :-)
Leo
Jo Avila 03-19-2007, 01:03 AM I use both the Intuos and the Graphire. I currently use a Intuos3 (6x8) in the studio. I have a Graphire3 (6x8) for my desktop at home. There is a Graphire4 (4x5) in my laptop bag that I bring around. I have a spare Graphire2 (4x5) that I am holding onto for sentimental reasons.
The pen of the Intuos feels better when working. But I can only maximize the features of the Intuos (i.e. 1024 levels of pen pressure and the additional express keys) when I am using a digital painting program like Corel Painter IX.5 (Corel Painter X has been released - gotta get myself a copy of that soon :D). Otherwise, I personally don't see any difference between using a Graphire or an Intuos for Photoshop.
The main complaint regarding the Graphire is that its surface is too slick when using the pen. You don't get the same tactile feel as compared to using an Intuos. I usually recommend that you just get a piece of plain bond paper and tape it over the active area of the Graphire. It should give you a close approximation of how the Intuos pen and tablet feel when working :D
The Intuos pen/stylus though does come with extra nibs. Swapping the standard nib does change how the pen feels when working. Also, the Intuos pen is more ergonomic and appears to be sturdier.
jadran_dychioco 03-19-2007, 06:58 PM Well, I do have the Favo (Graphire 4 pen+mouse combo) so I use the pen for graphics software and the mouse for the rest. :)

is the graphire4 in US the same with ours?
is their a difference like in design, technical aspects?
they have a mouse bundled there and is much cheaper..
the cheapest here is 5100 and $92 in circuit city and you get the mouse
Jo Avila 03-20-2007, 12:33 AM It's the same unit. AFAIK, it is only the units sold in the US that come with a bundled mouse. Units sold locally that come bundled with a mouse are gray market units. The warranty won't be honored by the local distributor.
Raph Garcia 03-20-2007, 12:52 AM my post at philmug about the same topic:
"i own a widescreen 4x6 intuos 3... got this particular model on sale in singapore for mga $350 (P11k!) to match the widescreen of my macbook pro. it was even cheaper than the 4x5 which was $380!
i also have a 4x5 graphire 2. there is a pretty substancial difference between the intuos and graphire. the feel of the surface alone.. its like drawing on paper! pressure sensitivity is more evident because of this fact. its not coz the intuos has 1024 levels and the graphire only has 512... its more because the surface gives better physical response. but really the graphire is sufficient for most tasks. If you've never used a tablet before, you'll be extremely happy with a graphire. i was! till i saw this on sale!
as for the difference between the widescreen and the standard size... i really dont feel there is one. i sometimes use my widescreen tablet on a standard monitor or a standard tablet on a widescreen, etc. same shiza
one more note... the tablet size u need is dependent on the size of the strokes you make. if you are used to painting on a large canvass... get a large tablet... if you do small inking strokes or something... get a small tablet... personally, as i not only use my tablet for 2d applications but for 3d too... i get tired using big tablets... it takes so much effort to get from one part of the screen to the other!" <- a guy at philmug later noted that you can map a portion of the tablet to the whole screen instead of using the whole tablet allowing you to use smaller strokes when using larger tablets
actually since i got my intuos i've been using my tablet for everything... even if im chatting or yahoo messengering or whatever... i dont use my mouse anymore. dont get anything but WACOM... lowest end WACOM as long as its WACOM... even an old used one! :)
victorimperial 03-20-2007, 10:48 AM how much is a wacom tablet? what's the price range?
nino_carandang 03-20-2007, 10:55 AM how much is a wacom tablet? what's the price range?
depends on the model. it can go for around 4.5K to as high as 19K. go to wacom.com to determine which model do you want for yourself.
victorimperial 03-20-2007, 11:03 AM i'm just interested in getting the 4x5 model... graphire4?
I saw in the internet that the tablet includes a wireless mouse? BTW, where can I buy that offers the cheapest price in Manila?

Ynzal sells the Graphire4 (4x5) at a pretty low price (P4.4k). But their units don't come in a box. Whay Ynzal did was to procure educational packs of the Graphire4. These packs are meant to be sold to educational institutions. Each pack has 10 Graphire4 units.
Ynzal sells the units from the educational pack individually. You get a brand new Graphire4 (4x5), a stylus and the bundled original software on CD. What Ynzal sells is pretty much the same as buying a regular unit that comes in the original box.
Basically, giving up the box translates into a discount of at least P1,000 LESS than SRP. The great thing about these units is that they still come with the local warranty.

i checked the website.. may kasamang wireless mouse... so yung sa atin.. stylus lang? Eto yung nakita ko sa best buy sa US.
http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=7424423&st=wacom&lp=3&type=product&cp=1&id=1122655672173
Jo Avila 03-21-2007, 01:03 AM Normally, units with a bundled mouse are for sale only within the US.
I checked with the local distributor. I've seen a few units being sold locally with the bundled mouse. The local distributor said that those are gray market units - hence, they are not covered by a local warranty.
Jay Javier had a Graphire tablet that malfunctioned about eleven months after he purchased it. He purchased it locally from an authorized dealer. The distributor honored the local warranty by giving him a brand new unit.
BTW, the wireless mouse for the Graphire isn't that expensive. I ordered one for one of my friends from the local distributor. I managed to get it for less than 1k - but that was about a year ago and the prices have increased since then.
I have a wireless mouse for my Intuos3. I got it out of sheer whim :D I hardly use it though. The stylus is handier and more precise for my needs.
regie_de_rueda 03-21-2007, 04:46 AM To those with broken wacom pen, I experienced the same thing. I broke my wacom pen about a month ago.
I ordered a new one and when the new one came in, I decided to take a peek (translated-took the broken one apart:)) to see what's inside . Upon opening the broken pen, I saw two pieces of small PCB(?) connected by two very thin wires (I'm assuming + and - ). The first PCB is the 'pen point' and the second one I assume, is the main board. One of the wires is disconnected at the pen 'end'. Probably due to stress failure ( remember this is a very thin wire ) brought about by pressure exerted on the pen while using it.
All I did was reconnect the wire to the PCB by soldering and VOILA! I now have two wireless pens for my Wacom.
LeoCastillo 03-21-2007, 06:26 AM Thanks for the reply Jo, looks like it might be Graphire for me then. :-)

Hi Joe,
Do you know where I can find tutorial on how to use the Tablet? I got mine also from Ynzal, without the box, last 2 months ago but I'm not using it anymore. I dont know why I'm having a hard time to use it. It was replaced by Wireless Mighty Mouse from Mac...
Thanks
Jo Avila 06-26-2007, 09:16 AM Tutorial for using the tablet? It was included in the CD that came with the tablet.
One thing you have to remember when using the tablet is to break a certain rule about drawing. I remember my grade school art teacher telling me not to rest my hand on my artwork. I encourage you to do so with the tablet. It provides an anchor point that can be used as a reference point when moving the pen/cursor over the tablet/screen.
Also, did you install the driver? Most people who have complained to me that they have a hard time using the tablet never bothered to install the software driver. :D
Cheers!

or installed a wrong wacom model driver. i had a hard time learning it before because of the wrong driver. (try to google for the right wacom model for your tablet)
Jo Avila 06-26-2007, 10:33 PM There might be something wrong with the tablet.

mei how does it perform? how's the sensitivity?
Anwar_Ratag 08-29-2007, 02:10 PM Sir Willy, I recommend on buying Wacom Graghire's latest version. I bought my first one a couple of years ago which is Graphire 3 6x8 around 4K, and bought my second on June this year @ EDP, SM Meganall Cyberzone which is graphire 6x8 cost around 5K+.
I use it everyday for graphiccs and illustrations. It is light weight, I always carry one when going at work and on location events. I have no problem in its performance, it's like using a regular pen. Works great with photoshop especially on drawing and digital painting, works great on photo editing too.
Here are some sample of my illustration using Wacom Graphire, hope you like it :)

a little pressure is okay. the problem i always encounter is the battery, though. after about 10 minutes of using it, the cursor freezes and i have to remove and re-seat the battery in order for the stylus to work again.

I have no problem in its performance, it's like using a regular pen. Works great with photoshop especially on drawing and digital painting, works great on photo editing too.
Here are some sample of my illustration using Wacom Graphire, hope you like it :)
Hi Anwar,
The Wacom Graphire 6x8 was only 5k? Sorry for wanting to confirm because I called Ynzal and they said that the 6x8 costs much more than that (8k or 10k, I can't remember exactly). I'm wanting to buy a 4x5 but Ynzal said it was 5k+ and out of stock.
Anwar_Ratag 08-30-2007, 09:54 AM @ Sir Winston,
Try visiting EDP, SM megamall 4th flr Cyberzone. I forgot what EDP stands for, its an abbreviation. I got my Wacom Graphire 4 6x8 for only 5500. I think there was a sale then, I dont know what promo there was back then. I'll keep you posted if I have some more infos about it.

enjoy_gaw 11-07-2007, 06:58 PM Does your pen and tablet (screen cursor) keep wiggling?
Even if i hold it stationary, the cursor on the screen keeps jumping about.
It's driving me up the wall. :)
Is the graphire 4 or the intuos any better at this?
ChrisTayag 11-28-2007, 01:04 AM Just got a Graphire4 today... it really makes PP faster, easier, and more accurate. :D
AngeloPolangcos 12-16-2007, 12:21 AM saan makakabili ng wacom intuos 3 dito sa pinas ? wala akong makita sa gilmore. sa greenhills ba meron ? help... Ano rin pala ung price ?
Wendell Dejelo 01-14-2008, 02:35 PM i use intuos 2 (12x12)
problem on wacom pag ginagamit ko dapat lagi nakapatong yung kamay ko sa tablet within its pen to tablet range. pag nawala sa pen distance (0.5mm ata yun) to tablet i have to wait for 5sec para gumana uli yung pen pero yung eraser ala naman problem. normal ba to?
Rolando Ballesteros 02-04-2008, 01:05 PM Anyone here own any of the new range of Wacoms (Bamboo, Bamboo One, Bamboo Fun)? They're inexpensive entry level tablets but how do they perform and what are differences in features? TY.
Tantin Tolledo 02-04-2008, 03:51 PM You can actually buy it straight from the distributor themselves. They're in mandaluyong. When I bought my intuos3, I bought it there. I think they had a promo then. Buy a Wacom, get a Camera.
Friggin' camera was a cheapo polaroid that I never got to use.
As for the wiggling cursor, that's a sign of sensor board problems. If its under warranty bring it to the distributor ASAP. And make sure you harass the product manager based in Japan because if you dont, it'll take forever to have it fixed, or you might even be charged for the repairs.
Tantin Tolledo 02-04-2008, 03:58 PM The best test for sensor board problem is this.
Make a new file in PS. Choose the brush, and then make a these drawings.
a. concentric rings - the tighter the better.
b. s-curves stretching from left to right end. the tighter you make it, the better. do both horizontal and vertical s-curves.
sensor circuits are lined up vertically so if the top section if damaged, the whole vertical line is (i think the impact is a whole cm wide. normally, patapon na yung board as it needs to be replaced as a whole, not just that particular section.
What causes this? tightly packed laptop bags. If you have to carry it, fashion out a sturdy box where no pressure can ever touch both back and top ends of the tablet.
Dulce Rose Lada 02-18-2008, 12:16 PM I've been itching to buy an Intuos3 as well. Anybody knows where to buy that ships the item to Davao?
steep_quinones 05-14-2008, 03:42 PM What store is on mandaluyong? YNZAL is at QC (based on thier webby), im thinking you are referring to other store..^_^
oh yeah ill been backreading and I always saw comparrisons between Grapphire and Introus.. But how about the Bamboo line? any feedback?
I am choosing between Bamboo fun and Graphire 4. (but still open for other brands like Genius)
And also, is 4 x 5 really enough? or should I wait for some money and buy the bigger 6x8s?
Thanks guys.. 'appreciate it..^_^
Last, if you can recommend dealers or store, that will be fantastic.. Thanks a lot.^_^
Jo Avila 05-14-2008, 04:29 PM I have about four tablets (Graphire 2, Graphire 3, Intuos 3) in 4x5 and 6x8 sizes.
I use the 4x5 tablets for my laptop when I am working on location. I use the 6x8 tablets when I am at home or at my studio.
But I will most probably get a Bamboo by next week. I need to retire my Graphire 2 :D
Cheers!
Jo Avila
P.S.
Or, I might get another Intuos3 (budget permitting :D).

I referred to this link for comparison of the various Wacom tablets before I bought mine last month.
http://www.wacom.com/productinfo/differences.cfm
Attended a class in PCCI and they recommended Wacom. I bought mine in V-mall greenhills : Intous 4x6 , Php11K. Kinda expensive but I need to finish a project. Good luck
steep_quinones 05-14-2008, 04:47 PM Thanks for the reply sirs.^_^
Jo Avila 05-25-2008, 12:01 AM I just got a Bamboo Fun :D I'll be using it tomorrow when I do a demo/lecture on color management and inkjet printing :D

Jo Avila 05-27-2008, 12:03 AM The Bamboo Fun works great. I consider it to be far superior to the Graphire series.

John Edward Taca 05-27-2008, 01:27 AM havent read all the posts but genius is good enough to get your feet wet. once you start to appreciate the improved control try to budget for a medium (5x7 i think) intuos. dont buy the graphire... madulas bec of the plastic tablet surface.

The Graphire series has been discontinued. It has been replaced by the Bamboo series.
The Bamboo tablet feels more like pen on paper. It doesn't have the smooth plastic surface feel of the Graphire tablet :D
I've done a lot of editing work on my Graphire tablets. The feel of the stylus on my Intuos tablet was a more enjoyable experience. It made me feel like more of a "pro" :D LOL!
But I would consider the Bamboo Fun a worthy alternative to my Intuos.
Cheers!

I use a Graphire. I cut and taped an art paper on the surface. Now it feels like i'm drawing on an art paper :D.

LOL!...
you must be getting good results bec i dont feel like one even after months using one :Scared:
julianafelipe 05-27-2008, 10:42 AM i have one, an old graphire 3 in sapphire blue. bought it years ago to draw.

I regularly use a Intuos3 (6x8) when lecturing at my studio. But I keep a Graphire4 (4x5) in my laptop bag when I have to edit or teach out on location. I have a Graphire3 (6x8) for my desktop at home (the kids use it to draw using Corel Painter Essentials :D). I know I have a spare Graphire3 (4x5) tucked away somewhere.
Anyway, the stylus of my Graphire4 went kaput. I don't know why. The nib and the buttons no longer work properly. The cost of a new stylus is almost half of a new tablet & stylus set :D
I got the Bamboo Fun to replace my Graphire4 and to check out its performance. The surface of the tablet of the Bamboo was a welcome change from the Graphire. I used to advice my students to also tape a piece of paper on the tablet surface of their Graphires. IMO, you no longer have to do that with a Bamboo Fun.
I had a blast editing the photos of my students in Singapore. I used it for a lecture that lasted about six or seven hours. I also like the new buttons on the tablet. A lot better compared to the Graphire4.
One reason that I might have gotten "pro" looking results is because I'm such a lazy bum when it comes to post processing. A little shortcut here and there speeds up the workflow a bit :D LOL!
Cheers!

betang paglinawan 06-09-2008, 03:02 PM i use Bamboo Fun and it has never failed me (especially when i do digital drawing). good sensitivity and it has a very good feel.. feels like drawing on paper.. unlike other tablets, the surface is not slippery.. it's also very slim and lightweight and it's not as expensive as others..:)
jasonmiraples 07-03-2008, 05:52 PM A better use of Tablet (http://www.5min.com/Video/Jack-Sparrow---Pirate-of-Caribbean-speed-painting-25317006) if you really want one.

MelvinSevilla 10-15-2008, 02:54 PM Just read this thread... and thinking of getting a Wacom Bamboo tablet...
Is this good on a Vista (for people using Windows)? I read from a computer forum that the software that comes with it does not run properly on Vista? I want to verify with some folks who have experience with this.

Head to the distributor itself. That's the cheapest you can go.

bambirosales 10-18-2008, 07:39 PM Bamboo Fun comes with a mouse. Do the other Wacom models come with errrrr....mice? Seriously, is a mouse important for tablet work? Or can I just go for the Bamboo without the mouse?

I have a bamboo fun. The mouse that comes along with it is heavy and scrolls unsmoothly against the tablet. I suggest that U don't use the mouse that comes along with it! Personally I think the pen is much useful when than the mouse. But if U like to use a mouse, better use an optical mouse:)

Read in the thread about the cheaper genius tablet is that advisable?
Thanks for any wisdom you may impart. God bless us all!

Get the Bamboo if you don't need a wireless mouse that comes bundled with the Bamboo fun.
Forget about the Genius tablet. :D
Or, why not contact Ynzal Marketing in Sct. Rallos st., QC.
They sell educational packs of Wacom tablets. The discount is pretty good compared to the price of a boxed retail pack of Wacom.
Cheers!
