YKL, Superia, Velvia, Sensia,uhmmmm..... I've heard of these films (and used one), what are the distinctive characteristics of each?
and oh ah....are there any other kinds on the Fuji line? (those readily available at shops) And what is the recommended Fujifilm for general shooting?

Try Reala and Velvia 50. Good luck!

I mostly use the PRO-160S for weddings and portraitures... excellent skin tones, wide exposure latitude, faithful color reproduction, and extremely good scanning quality output. More available than the Velvia.

somewhat OT, where can I buy slide films. I have been looking for slides since before and it seems that some people have tendencies of hoarding it :) can't find cheap slides anywhere now.

You can order Fuji slides direct from Ariel Tresvalles, his contact info is posted in the "Supplier Side..." thread. For Kodak Ektachrome slides you can order from Studio 58. Slides aren't cheap though, unless expired.

Back when I was still a kid, there weren't any readily available slide developers around, they (I think it was one of the film developers surrounding Fiesta carnival) had to send the roll to Germany hehe... It was an Ektachrome...

note: slide films are never cheap. they become cheap when it's past its expiry date. even that is at the mercy of the vendor.

i've always liked the contrast and texture of pro plus II better than superia/reala. it's cheaper too. only available at asa100 though

try out velvia.... a bit expensive but well worth it if you're into saturated and boosted colors.

very good for travel photography (at least in my book).

@ noli - does fuji still offer velvia 50? the last time i checked its pretty difficult to source. do let me know if you have some contacts :)

love film =)

Sensia 200 gives a yellowish colorcast but on bright days, the yellow cast isn't that noticable.

Try to get Fuji NPH 160. If I'm not mistaken Otep still has some.

I sent you an email.

I do have some 120s that I am planning to sell... reason?? well they are like a week to expiration. I could or might still use them with Holga though but will also consider selling it to someone who could really use them.. I buy films in bulk.. I will check and will keep you posted..

Thank you
Ian
