Had the chance to visit the Shoreline park (adjacent to my favorite Palo Alto Baylands) over the weekend. Mostly overcast the morning but the sun showed up later on for some usable shots. Used the Sony A100 + Bigma DG. Cropped and some PP.

Great captures of these photogenic birds, Gil!

In the second pic, it seemed that the bird became bored and sleepy...hehe.

Wonderful captures Gil !!! I find the second photo really cute. The 3rd photo somehow shows a very determined look ... perhaps determined to get that dragonfly in front of him ?

Thanks much to all and yes, I've seen lots of yawning which tells us that they had a busy night (need to confirm if this owl type hunts at night too).
