ako naglakad in knee-deep waters in pasong tamo! perennially flooded place, basta hard rain.

i was looking at all the people and the various responses they had... from waiting in any shade, clumped tightly, to riding profiteering pedicabs, to tiptoing over makeshift bridges, to kids swimming...and all i could think about was "damn, this is a fantastic street photography project!!!" :D

all the while i was already drenched up to my briefs...hehehe.

:Grin::Grin: buti na lang i live nearby...was able get to the showers quickly. oh well, its a familiar experience na rin, having studied in don bosco in pasong tamo. every year there's a "lusong sa baha" story to tell...jologs ba? i think its part of pinoy culture! hehehe

seriously, hope everyone's cars will be back in order soon. and hopefully no one left their cameras inside..........

Jay,

Funny you mentioned Don Bosco, was there last Friday. We heard the 7:00PM mass, when we came out Amorsolo was under water. Several cars was damaged, grabe it happened so fast. Must heve been really freaky weather we had last Friday. There was even a tornado in Manila bay, one of my friends was able to take a picture. Will ask for a copy and post it soon.

yeah, one of our staff texted me about that tornado! astig daw ah complete with lightning...scary...but that would have been a nice contri to issue 5! hehe.

i just dont know whats up with pasong tamo. 20 years they have been doing everything...from enlarging the sewers to making more drain systems...they tried raising the road by a couple of inches... and still it goes underwater in just 30 minutes of hard rain.

its such a big, perplexing conundrum for the city engineers...feeling ko they have given up na.

Thats funny, I had my share of numerous walks in flooded areas.. from high school, college to working life.. :D

Before in Vito cruz, because theres a lot of manholes that are left open, or sidewalks that are suddenly deep, people tend to walk in lines  they follow the person in front of them so that when he suddenly fall submerge they would know thats deep or theres a hole there :D

Anyway hope everythings well Jen :) And good thing you always bring your camera with you, or it will be in the car..

Hi Jay,

Talking about camera inside the car...my friend, during a heavy downpour at noontime just left his camera bag just to grab something very quick near the Rizal memorial coliseum. When he returns, isang hallow blocks na nasa loob ng T shirt ang kapalit ng camera bag nya, wasak ang window nya
:Scared:

@jay_jallorina sayang no, ala ka dala dala camera, gandang subjects yang ganyan.

@anton_montilla unfortunate for the car owners (us included) but, better the cars than us na lang ang masasabi ko. kaso, huhuhu, gastos talaga.

@gelbert naku idol, alam mo suerte nga di ko iniwan talaga sa car. iniiwan ko pa naman yan lagi. lesson learned na yan, wag na mag-iwan sa car ng camera. sayang pag nabasa. (di naman siguro lagi babaha no?)

@bryant kakatakot naman yung twister na yun. where exactly was that in Quezon City???

Ganyan pala kalala ng baha nun? Kaya pala dami nagpalinis samin the next day... I think we received around 8 units for flood recovery on the 10th alone.

(Oh, we own a couple of detailing shops hehe).

grabe din talaga mag-flash flood diyan sa don bosco/pasong tamo. used to live in a condo there beside waltermart, ang parking ko sa kabilang building in estacion street near the riles. hindi nagbabaha dun eh!

hopefully be back there next year, after this assignment out-of-town, para stone's throw away lang ang OWG. :)
