Hi Guys,

Just wanted to share my experience when I went to JT to purchase a new lens. I began testing the lens I wanted to buy but felt that the images were soft so I had to do a numerous set of test to check if it was me or the lens. When I told Jerome that the lens is front focusing he then brought out a D200 to test the lens and sure enough the lens is front focusing.

He gaved me the camera to test the lens and all I can think about is the camera and not the lens. I was more drooling with the camera rather than the lens I have been checking for almost a half year.

Anybody experienced this? I almost forgot I was with my wife when I held the lens...:)

Just sharing!!! Have a good weekend.

Roy

happens to the best of us, i had a d70s and was very happy with it. i was interested in the 12-24 which tj had attachd to his d200. after holding, feeling and playing around with the cam i mysteriously lost interest in the lens. the rest is history:)

I've owned a D70, a D100 and still own another D100 which I am using in the past 3 years. pero nung makagamit din ako ng D200, feel ko ang big difference. In the first 2-3 weeks I was using it, i often find myself exclaiming, "wow, gandang camera nito!"

OT: @Dave

Nice gallery you got there! Love the "sea" pictures.
Question: Which among the 17-35 and 10-20 do you prefer for landscapes?

Regards.

if I have the distance and I still can get the angle I want, i prefer the 17-35. it's clarity is superb over the Sigma (IMHO).

if i'm near and want to capture a bit of forground and would like to use a smaller aperture (like f/16 up), slower speeds like (1 sec and slower), I'll go for the sigma.

I'm just having problem with vignetting occuring in the 10mm focal length of the Sigma when i'm using multiple filters like polarizer and neutral density. This does not happen with the 17-35mm nikkor (which is my favorite).

Hope it helps. (will post this in another thread, if its ok,)

I was so okay with the D70s already... quite okay for my needs... but after tinkering around with my friend's D200 one night... I couldn't sleep anymore... plus, after talkingto Rosalie about it, I knew I had to have one... my Dec. target got sped up to July...

It was meant because God allowed me to have enough funds to acquire it... magic!

I love it, love it, love it!!!

I came about an interesting article about the recent Japan and Philippine Free Trade Agreement. Here are some excerpts:

"The agreement will strengthen the economic collaboration between our two countries by increasing flows of goods, persons, investments and services," the two governments said in a joint statement issued at the signing ceremony.

The trade pact will also remove tariff duties on more than 90 percent of trade in goods between the two countries.

I wonder/hope if this includes camera equipment?:Evil:

trade agreements cover only essential items. Cameras and other consumer electronic gadgets are classified as non-essentials, thus the high customs duties.
