View Full Version : Photogenic Australia
chewychua 09-06-2006, 07:30 PM My family recently migrated to Australia, and while i'm the only one left (stuck) here, I still get to visit them regularly. Thought I'd share a few shots from my two recent trips to Sydney.
Peeps down under, feel free to share your photogenic Australia shots too :)

fidel_mercado 09-06-2006, 08:31 PM Nice shots! Like the first one the most, interesting pinkish color. :)
Earl Gonzalez 09-06-2006, 08:42 PM Chewy, is that a humpback whale? :) NICE!
chewychua 09-06-2006, 08:55 PM earl - yeah! we were lucky that day... the weather was bad, the seas were rolling and my tummy was about to go topsy-turvy, but when we got to the whale watching area, we were blessed to have 2 frolicking whales! big splashes abound!
here's another one:

fidel - i think I put it on "fluorescent" white balance by mistake, but i think it did the scene justice. :) thanks!
Reyno Rosete 09-06-2006, 09:03 PM Very nice series. I've seen the other whale before but this last post is a crackling good capture. Well done chewy.
Amiel_Mercado 09-06-2006, 09:34 PM Hey chewy, is the Pyrmont bridge the one in Darling Harbor?
I like that whale shot. That's my frustration, a whale shot. I always wanted to shoot a whale.
Earl Gonzalez 09-06-2006, 10:29 PM I envy you Chewy. :) I hope I can do this in the near future. :) Thanks... It must really be such a sight to behold.
chewychua 09-06-2006, 10:36 PM hi!
yeah, the pyrmont bridge is the one that cuts across the darling harbour. my folks rented a place there so I was walking across that footbridge everyday for 2 weeks :)
@earl - the guide told us that we were lucky to find two whales that did flips and flops. out of the 100 odd tours that she's guided, only 2 or 3 were as spectacular as the display that we were able to witness. i guess whales would want to play in stormy weather...?

Norman_P._Aquino 10-30-2006, 07:39 PM Chewy, that must have been quite an experience, seeing a humback in the open water. I will jump in the sea if allowed to... =B)
That first night shot is a keeper -- very good composition and DOF.
Regards,
Norman
