If you plan to do your business in Manila and if you're required to do Porter's 5 forces in your plan, your direct competitors are Blow-up Babies ( www.blowupbabies.com (http://www.blowupbabies.com) ) , Picture this and Picture Company.
Oh SOM I don't miss you at ALL
kristineclarissecruz 11-22-2007, 07:57 PM hey Steven :)
I'm a 4th student too - had the same problems as you had but it was for an Integrated Marketing Communications plan...
Let's see. Your USP for a photography studio for kids?
Try female photographers. They have a way with kids...as what a studio owner once told me. And yes, freebies or memberships. Packages. Stuff.
Brainstorm some more :)
Oh I miss this stuff. God bless :)

Just my 2cents... Instead of the customers coming to your studio, howabout if you come personally to their homes to take their photos? Maybe you can bring some lights, costumes and backdrops to their homes. You can also a 77777 sort of number where people can call and they can sked time with you. :)

Melvin, good idea!!!! That's a good start for a viral marketing effort
One will be surprised to see how our countrymen would like to have their pics taken in places they're comfy with. Save for the downer moments like over-zealous security guards in malls.

Actually, its not really a fresh idea, but its an idea that has gone away a few decades ago.
My dad (who passed away last year at the age of 78) told me stories where photographers actually come to their house to take their family portraits. Imagine, the photographers then have to carry their huge view cameras to your house. I think that's the usual thing before. Not sure why that practice stopped...
