Richmon_De_Jesus 11-19-2007, 04:29 AM just want to share some product shots I did using just my speedlights..
still in the process of learning being a strobist:)
you guys can share your product shots as long as you indicate how you lit your subject/s the STROBIST WAY.
let me start
Wine bottle

Snooted 430ex above wine bottle
430ex w\ stofen under the bottle to reflect the white reflectors at the side.
PP the bottom part of the bottle to eliminate the flash burst and some dodge and burn.

I love the wine bottle. Excellent lighting, at least for my taste. Great exposure too.
Thanks for sharing.

bunny_donato 02-03-2008, 10:16 PM Good job! Excellent photos. Personal Fave is the bottle shot. care to share how you made a snoot for the speedlight or if there is a snoot for speedlights readily available in the market please let me know where you got it.
Thanks in advance
David Tong 02-03-2008, 10:26 PM They're really creative use of a single strobe, good job.
With the bottles, with most liquids, it'll help if you can shoot some light from underneath or add a light, reflective sheet at the back of the bottle to make it more "transparent" :)

Im also interested to know what kind of snoot did you use? or was it DIY?
luiscruz 03-19-2008, 08:25 PM These aren't exactly the most glamorous shots, but they're definitely Strobist experiments. I was testing my DIY grid / snoot (http://lightchasersphotography.com/blog/testing-my-diy-grid-spot/) and this was the subject I chose to illustrate the effects.

You can see the setup for these shots here (http://www.flickr.com/photos/15356595@N06/2045987978/), but the basic idea is that Ryu was lit from roughly a 45 degree angle off camera right.
luiscruz 03-19-2008, 08:56 PM Here are a few images I lit with small strobes - all three have made it to my portfolio (http://lightchasersphotography.com/):
