ang canon 350d ba merong front/rear curtain flash sync?

pwede ba gamitin sa house interior ang curtain sync provided only with the built in flash?

Hey derek, the canon 350D has front/rear curtain flash sync. It can be found under custom function 9, item 1 (2nd curtain sync).

As far as I understand, second curtain sync means that the flash will fire at the end of the exposure. It can be used for effects like a moving subject having motion blur but still being sharp?

Anyone care to add to this?

fidel, you are partly right. though both front and curtain syncs can produce effects like a moving object having motion blur but still sharp (in a way), it can be explained better this way -- imagine a car running at night. with 1st curtain flash (at a slow enough shutter to produce blur) the result would be a sharp car with a trail of lights the front of the car to the direction it's headed it's headed. with 2nd curtain flash, the result would be a sharp car with trailing lights from the back of the car to the direction it came from. the subject would be sharper at the part of the frame where the flash fired, say in a 3sec shutter shot the 1st curtain shot would sharpen the subject at the 1st second while the 2nd curtain shot would sharpen the subject on the 3rd second. or something like that.

anyone care to add on this. :D
